On Wednesday 9th July 2014 Juwon Ogungbe presents “Progress Ceremony” - a Yoruba healing social ritual for our times – at The Forge, 3-7 Delancey Street, Camden, London NW1 7NL. The evening starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £8 with concessions and advance tickets at £6. Tickets can be purchased online at www.forgevenue.org and the venue can be reached on 020 7383 7808 .


July 9th is specially chosen to be as close to the Summer Solstice as possible. New beginnings open with the solstices –the moments when the sun stands still at the turn of each season. Progress Ceremony is a music driven theatrical narrative, rooted in Yoruba traditions with a great deal to say about our times, offering solutions of healing and renewal. It’s a compelling contemporary “happening”, with inspiring spoken word, exhilarating live Afro jazz grooves with an operatic edge played by some of London’s finest musicians and brilliant projected visuals. ...
