About
The much-admired Scottish jazz vocalist Kitty Whitelaw celebrates the American jazz singer, pianist and composer Blossom Dearie together with the stylish pianist James Buckham and double bassist Chris Hyde. Blossom Dearie was born in 1924 New York and over the course of her life became a highly acclaimed international singer, pianist and composer. She was made famous by her unique voice, Bebop stylings and her moving lyrical story telling. For this special concert Kitty will be paying homage and re-interpreting Blossom’s songs sung in English and French spanning her entire career, including classic tunes such as “Deed I Do”, “They Say It’s Spring”, “Manhattan”, “I’m Hip”, “Peel Me a Grape”, “Plus je t'embrasse”, “The Gentleman is a Dope” & “Surrey with the Fringe on Top”....
