Two and a half years ago singer/pianist Sarah McKenzie took part in the Umbria Jazz Festival competition and as a result was awarded – as one of a very few – a full scholarship at iconic Berklee College of Music. 18 months later she graduated with a Diploma in Jazz Performance and was immediately snapped up by the boss of Universal Publishing France, Jean-Philippe Allard, to record for Universal’s famous Impulse! label. Brian Bacchus (Norah Jones, Gregory Porter) produced the album, recording at the legendary Sear Sound studios in New York. Featuring several McKenzie originals alongside classic Cole Porter, Gershwin, Mancini, Ellington and Jerome Kern tunes, her Impulse! debut ‘We Could Be Lovers’ is now ready for release in Europe in August 2015....

In this whirlwind that is her career, Sarah McKenzie aged 27 has already won a Best Jazz Album (ARIA) award in Australia, and performed at some of Jazz´s most iconic places, including the Monterey Jazz Festival, Dizzy´s Coca Cola Club and Minton´s in New York, Sculler´s and with the Boston Pops at Boston´s Symphony Hall.
