Southampton University Big Band at The Concorde

SUJO is a student run Big Band, made up of various talented musicians from the University of Southampton. Although lacking in years we are by no means lacking in energy! We have a repertoire ranging from Ellington swing to blazing funk.

In January 2013, Billed as 'The Southampton University Big Band', the SU Jazz Orchestra appeared (for the first time ever?) at the Concorde Club to open the 2013 Season of Wednesday Night Jazz. The event was a great success, with the Concorde audience delighted with the band and singers and their repertoire of Big Band music including charts from the Ellington, Basie, Dizzy Gillespie and Sammy Nestico books as well as well-chosen Glenn Miller...
