RNCM Big Band with John Helliwell at RNCM, Concert Hall

In the mid 1990s, Supertramp sax legend John Helliwell made the decision to take a sabbatical from the group to return to study for a music degree here at the RNCM. We’re delighted that John is returning to the College for an evening dedicated to Supertramp’s glittering output. Over the 70s and 80s, the band dominated the pop charts on both sides of the Atlantic with hits such as Breakfast in America and The Logical Song that all featured John’s distinctive playing. Tonight’s gig features the RNCM Big Band who will join John for a set of special arrangements of Supertramp’s biggest and best songs, re-worked by RNCM staff and alumni including Clark Rundell, Carl Raven, Rob Buckland, Andy Scott and Mike Hall.
