We the Gleaners utilize found sound, recorded thought, and conversational improvisation to structure their compositions. The project mother speaks / mothers speak is inspired by interviews with their mothers as they were asked to speak about their perspectives on life, motherhood, partnership, aging, illness, death ... all of the big topics! Rather than writing songs about their mothers, mother speaks / mothers speak aims to be music inspired by them. The performance will feature Dana Lyn on violin, synth, and samples; Kyle Sanna on guitar, synth, and samples; and Matt Kanelos on piano, synth, and samples.
