During the past 21 years, The Jeff "Siege" Siegel Quartet has been making a name for itself touring Europe 4 times while performing at jazz festivals, live radio concerts, concerts and club venues. In 2019, Jeff’s quartet, along with special guests Feya Faku and Fred Berryhill, toured Africa where they performed several clinics on behalf of the US State Department and concert performance throughout South Africa as well as at the US Embassy, Mbabane, Eswatini.
Based in New York, the group consists of leader Jeff “Siege” Siegel on drums, Erica Lindsay on tenor saxophone, Francesca Tanksley on piano and Rich Syracuse on bass.
Jeff “Siege” Siegel (drummer, composer/arranger) was a member of the Sir Roland Hanna Trio from 1994-99, His career has also led him to perform &/or record w/Ron Carter, Kenny Burrell, Jack DeJohnette, Mose Allison, Dave Douglas, John Medeski, Kurt Elling, Ravi Coltrane, Ryan Kisor, Arthur Rhames, Wadada Leo Smith, Lee Shaw, Tony & Pete Levin & more.
In addition, Jeff has performed/and or recorded as well with an array of international artists in his travels including European artists Johannes Enders, Esa Pietila, Nils Wogrom, Jaromir Honzak, Harry Sokol, Torsten Goods, Julian and Roman Wasserfuhr, Cecile Verny , Michael Lutzeier, Nick Smart, Kirke Karja, South African trumpeter Feya Faku, singer Tutu Puoane and The South Africa Tribute Big Band and Brazilian and Argentinian musicians such as Tito Oliva, Filo Machado, Robenare Marques, Marcelo Jesuino, Raphael Simpaio and Ale Demogli. Erica Lindsay (tenor saxophone/arr./composer) is a Professor at Bard College. She has performed with Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Melba Liston Co, Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Williams, McCoy Tyner, Howard Johnson, Frank Zappa, Sumi Tonooka and her own quartet. Rich Syracuse (bass/composer) performed for many years with saxophonist Nick Brignola, Mose Allison and pianist Lee Shaw. Additional perfomances with Kurt Elling, Dave Liebman, Brubeck Brothers Medeski, and several others.. He has toured Europe, South America, and Southern Africa.
