Trained in classical music and jazz, he began his career in 1990 alongside Roy Hargrove before firmly establishing himself on the Japanese and international scene by joining the Elvin Jones Jazz Machine in 1996. While performing concerts and collaborating with the biggest names in jazz, he remains faithful to classical music, as illustrated by his interpretation of Gershwin's Concerto with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2003. Recognized as an artist by his peers, a committed educator and music advocate, since the late 1990s he has been developing numerous educational projects and teaching in Japan and the United States, all while maintaining a busy schedule of concerts and recordings as a leader and sideman.Another remarkable journey: Pierrick Pédron, a French saxophonist, recently came to the 38Riv for a residency to present his project "laboratoire 4+2".Pierrick Pédron discovered jazz at the age of 16 and began his career alongside Magic Malik before quickly making a name for himself on the international scene. After a period in New York, he recorded "Cherokee" (2001), was chosen by Selmer to design the Reference Alto, and founded his own quartet. A curious and daring artist, he undertakes significant projects and collaborations, asserting a unique voice in contemporary jazz. Named "Artist of the Year" at the 2021 Victoires du Jazz, he further solidified his influence with the album "Pédron / Rubalcaba" (2023) in collaboration with the great Gonzalo Rubalcaba, unanimously praised by critics and elected Album of the Year at the Victoires du Jazz....

Tout en enchaînant concerts et collaborations avec les plus grands noms du jazz, il reste fidèle à la musique classique, illustrée notamment par l’interprétation du Concerto de Gershwin avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Tokyo en 2003.
