About
The Producer’s Guild and the Philadelphia Jazz Project in collaboration with the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Music Department present in concert: Band Burrage.
Master drummer Ronnie Burrage is an accomplished artist and educator who has performed on four continents: Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. He has played with a veritable who’s who of jazz giants: Archie Shepp, Frank Morgan, Bobby Watson, Azar Lawrence, Gary Bartz, Jackie McClean, Reggie Workman and Sam Rivers. Appearing with Mr. Burrage will be Philadelphian’s Rick Tate (saxophone) and Nimrod Speaks (bass), as well as Alain Bradette (guitar) and Shenel John (vocals). This group is rooted in the jazz tradition while also harnessing a multitude of influences and good vibes from Weather Report, Miles Davis and Sly & the Family Stone. The band simultaneously blends fusion, hard bop, rock and pop elements into a percolating and soulful, sonic stew. This is a unit that you don’t want to miss!...
