Trombonist Ernest Stuart is filling in for Clifford Adams on this very special Neighborhood Concert, and Jazz Bridge will be turning this event into a benefit for Adams in his quest for a liver transplant.

Ernest Stuart is founder of the Center City Jazz Festival. While at Temple University, Ernest studied with Luis Bonilla, which he explains, “…changed (his) life.” During his studies Ernest began to make a name for himself around Philly as a very versatile trombonist playing various styles of music such as jazz, salsa, r&b, neo-soul, and hip-hop with such artists as The Roots, the Captain Black Big Band, Orrin Evans, John Swana, Tim Warfield, The O'Jays and more. After graduting from Temple and moving to New York, he has played in such clubs as the Village Vanguard, The Iridum, Smoke and the Blue Note, and has shared the stage with musicians such as The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Reggie Workman, Charles Tolliver, Terell Stafford and Anthony Wonsey.

Jazz Bridge, an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to assisting Greater Philadelphia Metro area jazz and blues musicians and vocalists in times of crisis, sponsors these neighborhood concerts throughout the region to keep the sound of Philadelphia alive.
