Pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim has been a sensation since his debut in 1950s South Africa as a member of the legendary Jazz Epistles. His own ensemble Ekaya - once a vehicle for anti-apartheid protest - continues to play music that speaks across generations and cultures.
