Kate Kay Es is an Australian musician/songwriter based in Brookyln, New York. She was raised by her jazz musician father and social justice activist mother. Kay Es was immersed in the music of John Coltrane, Weather Report, Chaka Kahn, Luther Vandros, Anita Baker, Michael Jackson and Joni Mitchell from birth. She began playing the piano, saxophone, singing and songwriting when she was 4 years old. She studied jazz piano at university in Melbourne, Australia before moving to New York City to pursue her career as a recording artist and songwriter.
