As for his love of singing in general and Frank Sinatra in particular? “I was barely 15 when I first saw Frank Sinatra in person,” Bruce recalls. He was here in Philadelphia at Convention Hall and on the bill with him were Sergio Mendes and Brazil ’66 and drummer Buddy Rich. Being a drummer, I went to see Buddy Rich and I knew nothing about Frank Sinatra. But when he came out on the stage, bolts of electricity went through me, and I’ve never felt anything like that before or since. I was hooked.”
