Delco Nightingale at Headhouse

Continuing in their tradition of bringing back the sights, sounds and styles of days gone by, the folks of Retrograde are bringing their latest installment to Philadelphia's HeadHouse this Saturday, July 28th. This time around, they harken back to the glamour and grace (and some of the goofiness) of the 1940s with Retrograde Presents: Swingtime Sirens. Anyone familiar with NYC's Dances of Vice, or Providence's Chifferobe can expect the same spirit of immersion, brought to you by organizers Therese Lavery and Anthony Bosco.

Members of Dumpsta Players (and Five Minute Follies veterans) will convene as Nebulous Intent to amuse patrons with a live radio drama performance. Also on the agenda will be the song stylings of Art Institute of Philly grad Miss Kacie Marie. And the evening's festivities will culminate with a performance by Philadelphia's own Delco Nightingale. The band's rockin' swing rhythms manage to morph swing era standards with a backbeat and growl reminiscent of vintage American rock and roll. Throw in a healthy dose of humor and the result is a thoroughly entertaining, authentic and modern tribute to an era....
