Lauded by Revive as “one of the most powerful and brilliant artists on the rise,” Younger puts on a show not to be missed. As part of the annual Philadelphia Harp Day, this event will allow guests to mingle with jazz musicians, harpists, and music enthusiasts of all walks while dining on a free buffet of light fare and complimentary wine. Ms. Younger herself will be available for autographs and conversation following her set, which will last from approximately 6 until 7:30 PM. As this is not a seated event, attendees are welcome to arrive anytime between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
A versatile musician who has been proven to defy genres and labels, Brandee Younger has created a unique niche in both traditional and non-traditional harp arenas. Ms. Younger remains in high demand and attracts the attention of today's most well-known artists, producers and groups in all genres. She has worked and recorded with a number of jazz luminaries including Ravi Coltrane, Charlie Haden, Kenny Garrett and Jack Dejohnette as well as a host of New York City’s top jazz musicians. Most notably, Ms. Younger has taken part in a series of musical memorials honoring the life of the great Alice Coltrane. A graduate of the Hartt School and New York University, Ms. Younger studied with Rebecca Flannery, Susan Jolles and Emily Mitchell. She teaches privately in New York and is on the harp faculty at Adelphi University and the Greenwich House Music School....
