World renowned trumpet player and jazz educator Terell Stafford has organized an ensemble of 17 stellar, homegrown musical artists—the long-awaited Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia. JOP aims to become the face of Philadelphia jazz, establishing the city as a nationally and internationally recognized destination for jazz performance. JOP's spring show features a rare appearance by tenor sax legend Benny Golson and a special tribute to jazz great Billy Strayhorn ('Lush Life') on the 100th anniversary of his birth.
