About

For decades, Ben Arnold has crafted his own brand of amplified American roots music, performing across the U.S. and Europe. With XI, he turns a new page—bridging personal reflection and universal themes in a roots-rock collection that’s as intimate as it is anthemic. After a major-label debut with Columbia in the ’90s, Arnold embraced the freedom of independence, releasing solo work and collaborating with bands like US Rails and Pistol For Ringo. By the 2020s, he’d contributed to over 30 albums. When the pandemic paused touring, he turned inward, channeling thoughts on change, patriotism, and social justice into his songwriting.XI reaffirms Arnold’s place among road-tested songwriters who blur genre lines, blending folk, blues, soul, rock & roll, and classic pop. He’s not reinventing the wheel—he’s refining the sound that launched his career, proving that in a shifting industry, consistency and craft still matter. With XI, Ben Arnold shows there’s strength in numbers.Artist WebsiteA rock & roll lifer, British-born, NYC-based James Maddock has carved a singular path since the 1980s. After fronting Columbia Records band Wood—whose songs appeared on “Dawson’s Creek”—he moved to New York in 2003 and launched a prolific solo career. His 2009 album Sunrise On Avenue C won Best Americana Album at the NY Music Awards, and Wake Up And Dream ranked among WFUV’s top albums of 2011. Maddock has released eight solo albums, including No Time to Cry and Little Bird in the Neighbourhood, both written during the pandemic.Maddock’s latest, Night Work (2023), evokes The Eagles and CCR, featuring longtime collaborators and mixed by Dave O’Donnell. He has shared stages with Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, and Levon Helm, and co-written with Mike Scott and Gary Barlow. With a craggy, soulful voice and emotionally rich songs, Maddock remains one of the most compelling singer songwriters on the scene.Artist WebsiteWatch the show in person!
