To satisfy the universal need for deep grooves and sweet sounds, the Music Department at the Parkway Central Library is collaborating with the Philadelphia Jazz Project and the Producers’ Guild to bring you The Mysterious Travelers Concert Series. Through free, monthly concerts running through April 2015, audiences will hear from veterans as well as up-and-coming musicians who are shaping the future sounds of Philadelphia. You heard it here first at your Free Library of Improvisation!

Three Bassists + One Drummer is a Jazz supergroup working through the low end of the sonic spectrum. Three quarters of the quartet are veterans of the Montgomery Auditorium stage. Drummer Anwar Marshall led the recent February date. Nimrod Speaks graced Montgomery Auditorium at the Free Library with Band Burrage last April. The same month also saw Brian Howell play in the Tal Shtuhl Trio. This will be Jason Fratiecelli’s first appearance at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Members of this quartet as individuals have shared the stage or the classroom with a diverse array of musicians including: Jimmy Cliff, Reggie Workman, Les Claypool, Billy Martin, John Hollenbeck, Orrin Evans, Edgar Meyers, Dave Douglas, Jennifer Lopez, and Robert Glapser....
