Jazz Bridge hosts “Jazz in Hawthorne Park: Drummer Rob Henderson Celebrates Mickey Roker” on Thursday, June 21. This concert is FREE: bring your lawn chairs, beach chairs, picnic baskets and friends! The rain date is a week later - June 28.
Mickey Roker passed away at the age of 84 in 2017. He had played and recorded with Jazz luminaries for over 50 years, best-known for his long association with Dizzy Gillespie. Mickey could often be seen at Hawthorne Park as unofficial “Jazz ambassador.”
