The Spirit Lives Through Jazz fellowship celebrates Mothers of the Music! The critically-acclaimed vocalist and composer Ruth Naomi Floyd will be supported by world-class musicians Aaron Graves on keys, Lee Smith on bass, Nasir Dickerson on sax and Khary Abdul Shaheed on drums. This incomparable assembly of musicians will pay tribute through music to the significant contributions of two of our community’s musical treasures — Wanda Dickerson, educator, dancer and co-founder of the electrifying Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble and Cora T.
