Salon de Lafayette is a new art inspired lounge in Soho built upon a time-honored ‘salon’ tradition reinterpreted through a modern lens. Commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, a salon is a gathering of creative people under the roof of an inspiring host, held to amuse one another and to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. Terrence Howard // Artist & Actor
Terrence Howard’s creativity and vision extends beyond the stage and screen into the world of visual arts. Howard has created his own geometric shape entitled Dark Matter. The Dark Matter sculpture represents 3 different forms of dark matter. Colored pieces constitute where dark energy overlaps creating vesica piscis and physical matter which is represented by where the color pieces are manifested. It is a true to size representation showing that dark matter and energy make up over 95% of the physical universe where as matter makes up only 5%. Howard continues to develop his concept of Dark Matter unitizing the interior reflections within fractal shapes.
