Take it Away dance - Cross Rhythms: Exploration of Tap and Jazz Music  at 7 X 7 Venice Island Concert Series at Venice Island Performing Arts And Recreation Center

Take It Away Dance will present “Cross Rhythms,” which features six original tap and Jazz music works of tap dancer and choreographer, Pamela Hetherington and Jenn Rose. The performers will be accompanied by Jazz musicians Adam Faulk, Nimrod Speaks, Anwar Marshall and Dena Underwood. Throughout the evening, the band and tap soloists will take the stage, highlighting the dynamic and exciting improvisation that happens when tap dancers and Jazz musicians play together. It seems that Hetherington has always been destined to dance for large audiences. At a young age, Stephan Love recognized her as a prodigy and took Hetherington under his wings having her perform for and study with master Philly tappers, Leon Evans and Delphine Mantz. This along with countless opportunities afforded her the opportunity to dance and tour with some of the best tap dancers in the world....

The Philadelphia Jazz Project in collaboration with independent producers and artists will present the “7x7 @ Venice Island,” concert series at the Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center.

The goal of the Philadelphia Jazz Project is to inspire a network to support, promote, archive and celebrate the diverse elements within the Philadelphia Jazz community, with the larger goal of connecting to the global scene.
