Ars Nova Workshop presents exploratory Los Angeles composer Tashi Wada at Solar Myth on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
The son of Fluxus artist and composer Yoshi Wada and artist and gallery founder Marilyn Bogerd, Tashi Wada is a composer and performer based in Los Angeles. Wada has embraced his family’s artistic heritage, channeling the creative impulses from his upbringing into work that explores resonance and dissonance, using alternative tuning systems and simple structures to generate rich and unanticipated perceptual effects. He’ll be joined by singer-songwriter Julia Holter on voice and keyboards, bassist Dev Hoff (Mendoza/Hoff Revels, Sharon Van Etten) and drummer Corey Fogel (Cryptacize, Missincinatti).
