Saturday Night Jazz returns for a summer series on Woodmere Art Museum's lawn. Enjoy an evening outdoors surrounded by nature and monumental sculptures! Two performances per evening begin at 5 & 7pm.
Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith were women whose powerful voices and music could penetrate the soul. Feel their passion, pain, hope, and disappointments. Vocalists Lisa Chavous and Sherry Butler join The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble with the blues of Ma Rainey’s “See See Rider,” Bessie Smith’s “Down Hearted Blues,” and many other classics.
