The renowned guitarist Pat Martino will be making an all-too-rare hometown appearance when he performs at The Philadelphia Clef Club on Saturday, September 24. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, guitarist Pat Martino has become a mainstay in jazz circles. Known for his melodic style, Martino began playing professionally in 1961 and has performed with the likes of Sonny Stitt, Gene Ammons, Richard Groove Holmes, John Handy, Bobby Hutcherson, Chick Corea, Jack McDuff, Stanley Clark, , Trudy Pitts among others. Martino has also recorded for a number of labels, most notably Blue Note and Prestige. His 2011 release for High Note, “Live at Blues Alley,” placed #1 on the jazz charts that year. A pioneer in Jazz Education, Martino has presented countless classes and workshops throughout the United States and Europe....
