Jeff Lorber, born in Philadelphia, PA, is an keyboardist and composer known for pioneering jazz fusion and contemporary jazz. His unique sound blends funk, R&B, rock, and electric jazz into a smooth instrumental style.

In the 1970s, he gained fame with Jeff Lorber Fusion band, the band won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for their album "Prototype."
