Uncle Kunkel’s One Gram Band is a Baltimore-based group delivering an fusion of funk and rock with an original catalog of high energy music. Known for their infectious grooves, offbeat lyrics, and standout covers, their shows are more than performances. Each set invites the audience to rejoice in moments of raw energy, improvisation, and spontaneous interaction to create something truly unique each night. The group began as a trio at Salisbury University, where their chemistry laid the groundwork for their sound. After moving to Baltimore, they expanded to a five-piece lineup, amplifying them to a fuller sound. This evolution has propelled them onto stages at premier Maryland venues such as The 8x10, The Atlantis, and Union Stage, and Pearl Street Warehouse. Along the way, they’ve built a strong and devoted local following known as “The Nieces & Nephews,” a vibrant community that mirrors the band’s energetic spirit and massively diverse circle of connections and friendships. Recently, Uncle Kunkel’s One Gram Band celebrated the release of their debut EP, Punk Jams, a bold statement capturing the raw essence of their live performances.
