Bobby Zankel returns to our stage after a triumphant performance with Steve Coleman. This is the third in a three part project entitled "The Wizards of the Saxophone Meet the Warriors of the Wonderful Sound: Creating a 21st Century Jazz Vocabulary" featuring work commissioned by Muhal Richard Abrams, an American composer, arranger, clarinetist, cellist, and jazz pianist in the Free jazz medium. Abrams compresses both contemporary and traditional ideas into lean, elegant pieces.
