Najwa Parkins is a highly sought after trombonist, vocalist, educator, composer, lyricist, dancer, actress, and performing artist. She leads her quartet the “Najwa Parkins" and the “After Hours Trio.” Parkins is a member of a hosts of bands beginning with the Emmy-nominated “Alex and The Kaleidoscope Band,” “Phil Woods and the Festival Orchestra,” “Hot Bijouxx,” and “Bachelor Boys Band.” She has shared the stage with artists such as Benny Golson and Branford Marsalis. Her debut album, “Not the Next Someone Else,” was released in 2011. In 2015, we will see the release of the eagerly awaited “Najwa Parkins Live at the Deer Head Inn.”...
