WKDU 91.7 FM

As the Philadelphia area's largest free-format station that broadcasts on the FM dial, WKDU is in a unique position. We go where other stations don't-in supporting the Philly area music community by spinning local music and broadcasting local bands on air, in playing genres and styles ignored by other stations, and in maintaining a diverse schedule of radio programming entirely operated by student and alumni DJs. Throughout most of WKDU's history, we have been almost entirely supported by Drexel University via an annual budget determined by a committee of students. But in recent years, due to ballooning amounts of student organizations that compete for these funds, WKDU has had its budget trimmed. It is for this reason that we are looking to diversify our financial sources. Our non-commercial, award-winning college radio station is run entirely by Drexel University students.
