The Rotunda

The Foundation is a community gathering place for the promotion of arts and culture. This center seeks to bring together the Penn student community with the people of West Philadelphia and the greater Philadelphia area. We work from the belief that art is a catalyst for change, and that arts events can lead to the formation of meaningful Penn-West Philadelphia partnerships.

Arts of all kinds are presented, including live musical performances, mulitmedia collaboratives, visual arts, and dance. We have recently presented groups from the West Philadelphia hip-hop community and the greater Philadelphia jazz, new music/experimental, rock and punk scenes. Events are open to the public for free, with donations encouraged.

As an alcohol free venue, the Foundation also provides a valuable social alternative for Penn students. The Foundation stimulates student interest through vibrant and engaging programming that encourages interaction among diverse groups of people.
