Rayse Biggs' sound is described as "lots of rich tones and a mellow vibe "(Detroit News) that comes through whether he is playing one trumpet or two at a time!
Having been mentored by Freddie Hubbard, Donald Byrd and Marcus Belgrave while listening to Charlie Parker and Lee Morgan, Rayse learned to command the instrument. His fingerings are profound and his range astounding! Rayse is a prolific writer and has penned three successful 3CD's Mr. Biggs, For The Love Of It and Rayse Biggs Live.
He is currently working on a CD featuring Najee and Roy Ayers to be released May 2013. Rayse has performed and/or recorded with awarding winning musicians such as Sonny Stitt, Was Not Was, Aretha Franklin, Fred Hammond, Kirk Whalum, Donald Byrd, The Temptations, Freddie Hubbard, KEM, Kid Rock, The Singletons, Ron Winans, Bettye LaVette, Bob Dylan, Gene Dunlap, just to name a few....
