Roddick reaches into his deepest musical memories to sculpt euphoric, otherworldly soundscapes of vintage digital synths, classical guitar, pan flutes, breakbeats, and haunted vocoders. Since emerging in the early 2010s, James and Roddick have made a lasting impact on the electronic pop landscape, building a world all their own with immersive self-produced albums and groundbreaking visual live show experiences. Their debut Shrines (2012) earned Pitchfork’s Best New Music Honors and was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize, and breakout track “Fineshrine” is RIAA Gold-certified in the U.S. Over the years, they’ve collaborated with artists including Danny Brown, Deftones and Black Dresses.
