The Dasp! 4tet is a Roman ensemble active for several years. It is born from the need of the musicians involved to unite under the jazz language different influences and different traditions, not always belonging to the “official” vein of jazz. In their live the hard-bop merges with free moments, the range of acoustic sounds with the distorted sounds of rock, mingling of rumbles and fusion intentions. Gathered by Matteo Giuliani, composer and arranger, the Dasp! 4tet have infused in the original pieces, of which their repertoire is almost entirely composed, a run-in interplay, the exploration of the widest sound possibilities and the security of a “different” but valid and new work that led them to be invited to the best Italian reviews and festivals.
