FES has been flirting with other disciplines such as theatre and cinema since 1998 and has been targeting a wide range of audiences : from discerning jazz lovers to young rock audiences. And FES’s natural environment is the stage.
Peter Vermeersch brings together a core of inspired and inimitable musicians that is without a doubt the most adventurous and varied big band of all time.
FES particular style of music ranges from strict score to exhilarating improvisation, it has a vast array of sources of inspiration and irrespective of whether they are arranged, adapted or integrated into original compositions, they add a range of moods and styles to the eclectic world in which the group revolves.
