Get Rhythm (Johnny Cash Tribute) Supported by Patrick Duff at The Fiddler's Elbow

A group of eight musicians from County Cavan in Ireland who have recently toured the prisons of Ireland, recreating the prison concerts undertaken by Johnny Cash and his band in the 1960s.

Following the prison tour, this 8 piece band (replicating the classic Cash, Tennessee Three, Carter Family and Carl Perkins line-up) are now taking their performance to venues playing songs from throughout Cash's career. Paul McCann will be recreating the role of Johnny Cash and June Carters vocal duties will be performed by Louise O’Reilly.

Patrick Duff was born in Bristol to an Irish Father and a Welsh Mother. After dropping out of school and spending time as a street busker, he became the lead singer of the alternative rock band Strangelove, who were signed to Food, Parlophone/EMI. As a solo artist Patrick toured with WOMAD Festival, collaborating most notably with the then 81-year-old veteran African master storyteller and musician Madosini, with whom he lived and worked in the township of Langa, in Capetown, South Africa.Patrick playing blue by Bub Patrick released his first solo album, Luxury Problems, produced by Adrian Utley of Portishead, on EMI’s legendary Harvest label – once home to his childhood hero Syd Barrett – in June 2005.
