About

For its first ever event, Left Foot is pleased to bring the Manchester maverick Werkha to the infamous Beat Bar for a night of groovy rhythms, uplifting chords and thumping bass. Come on down to hear the best that electronic has to offer in the north of England and get down to some proper soulful tunes. WERKHA

Werkha is the project of musician and producer Tom A. Leah. His debut EP 'Cube and Puzzle', released in September 2012, has kick-started him into the role of one of the finest fresh electronic musicians that the UK has to offer right now. His hard work towards his music was noticed by the legendary DJ Gilles Peterson, who subsequently signed Werkha to his forward thinking record label 'Brownswood Recordings'. His influences span far and wide; with classical, folk and jazz stylings often found entwined in his own breed of housey afro-beat feet movers. His unique brand of music has lead him to become one of the most sought after DJ's in both the UK and worldwide, having played Dimensions festival last year. Werkha was also recently signed to the label Tru Thoughts, an absolutely legendary label that has played host to some of the finest electronic musicians in the last 10+ years. Make sure you don't miss Werkha spinning some of the finest music you'll ever dance to on Saturday March 1st at the intimate Beat Bar....
