The Pablo Batista Latin Jazz Ensemble is a six-piece ensemble which covers both straight ahead and Latin Jazz. The music plays heavily on Afro-Caribbean folklore and world rhythms as well as the clave. The audience will have the pleasure of hearing an ensemble of musicians that are diverse and versatile in several genres. They will incorporate the elements of Jazz; the walking base, improvised solos, or the swing. This performance brings forth the authenticity of Latin Jazz and the emphasis with the clave along with the many rhythms that accompany the clave. The Philadelphia Jazz Project in collaboration with independent producers and artists will present the “7x7 @ Venice Island,” concert series at the Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center.

The goal of the Philadelphia Jazz Project is to inspire a network to support, promote, archive and celebrate the diverse elements within the Philadelphia Jazz community, with the larger goal of connecting to the global scene.
