our-piece London-based VALKANIA celebrate Balkans’ infectious, uneven rhythms then mix it up with jazz and blues – plus ‘balkanized’ cover versions from the Rolling Stones to Roxy Music.

Juggling five languages, they draw on the music of Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia.
In live performances, we play songs from our album Roots as well as contemporary and traditional songs from the Balkans including Greek Rebetiko, Bosnian Sevdalinka and ex-Yu Rock.
We have regular appearances at the following venues and events Jamboree, Earl Haig Hallo, London Theatre, Hootananny, Oxfam Festival, Forest Roots etc....
