Groundbreaking jazz pianist Matthew Shipp brings his trio to the Erie Art Museum for a Thursday evening concert. Hailed by jazz fans and embraced by alternative rock and electronica listeners, Shipp is one of the most original and uncategorizable jazz artists on the scene today. His new CD, Elastic Aspects (Thirsty Ear Records) shows his continuing exploration of form, sonority and the tradition. The concert is free, and a donation of $10 is suggested.
