The youngest, but by no means the least, of the great Roma Lakatos musical dynasty, Sandor "Soso" Lakatos is a seriously gifted saxophone player who has already made quite a name for himself around Europe. Something of a prodigy, he did his first paid gig at the age of 12 and by 16 was the soloist in the young Hungarian band Next Generation that came third at the Getxo International Jazz Festival in 2003. He toured in Israel, Jordan and Colombia with the Serbian World-Jazz Orchestra and in 2012 he won the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award for best composition. Now back in his native Hungary, as well as leading his own groups, his incisive and creative playing is in considerable demand amongst the leading bands of the Hungarian Jazz scene.
