About
The music of Oran Etkin’s new CD Gathering Light (Motema, April 2014) takes inspiration from folk melodies that he learned on his tours in Indonesia, China, Japan, Israel and Europe, interweaving them with his own compositions. It is named after an old Jewish story about light scattered around the world at the beginning of time. The story challenges the listener to mend the world by gathering these points.
