Miss Cantaloupe- Interdimensional Fairy Dreampop, special quartet curation for WF9- cello, guitar, glockenspiel, handpan and 3-part harmonies
Maya Keren- solo piano, electronics, and voice. We welcome Maya back to the series bc she's badass!
============
Enjoy a small slice of Cantaloupe pie as we bring you a select group of the Cantaloupe Collective for a specially curated experience.
Bexx Rosenbloom aka Dahlia Direwolf joined the band in 2018 primarily playing cello but as time went on, this trained vocalist hopped on the mic to lend a hand blending 3 part harmonies..sometimes even 4 & we hope to showcase that tonight! Summerberry Salad joined the group in 2016 to round out harmonies and add an angelic touch with the glockenspiel. Singer/songwriter Christina aka Princess Paradigm(lol) formed the group in 2015 with longtime friend Andy McCloud (Dr. Watermelon) & drummer/handpan player Sean Youngman. Since then, the band has gone through many different iterations all the while encapsulating their signature dreamy sound. To give you a bit of lore, the whole band was formed around an interdimensional fantasy concept that continues to write itself as we grow. We're always on a journey somewhere..and tonight we invite you to join us in Cantaloupia! Their debut album, Beets Began To Rise, has just been released with glowing reviews. "[This is] the essence of what a strong concept album strives to be"- Philth Magazine

Maya Keren (she/her) is a pianist, vocalist, and composer hailing from Philadelphia, PA who performs regularly around Philly, New Jersey, and New York. She aims to make art that is compassionate and riotous, that smashes expectation and invents new ways of being together. Maya is an alumna of the Kimmel Center’s Creative Music Program and the Banff Workshop for Jazz & Creative Music, two programs that imprinted upon Maya the importance of vulnerability and trust in meaningful music-making. She carries this sentiment with her when she performs, in projects like improvising duo Moon! Moon! with bassist Akiva Jacobs and Julien Chang’s touring indie-rock band. Maya is currently studying Music and African American Studies at Princeton University, where she has been mentored by Kris Davis, Rudresh Mahanthappa, and Angelica Sanchez.

Captain Corbo’s Warp Factor 9 is a monthly concert series created, curated, and produced by pianist and artist, Erica Corbo. Held in a small piano studio in West Philadelphia, the series features small creative ensembles of all genres in an intimate community setting. WF9 creates a much needed home for local avant-garde and jazz acts, as well as for solo pianists and piano-focused ensembles. In pairing the avant-garde with more mainstream genres, Erica hopes to break down the unnecessary divides placed between musical styles, artistic disciplines, peoples, and all other things.
