British-Nigerian singer and songwriter Ola Onabulé has always been interested in crossing cultural and musical boundaries. His three and a half octave baritone, is the perfect instrument to do so. Al Jarreau has been a major influence on his vocal and compositional style. Today, Ola is at home in jazz, R&B and soul, but also in pop and is in great demand as an artist worldwide. The program consists of Ed Partyka's arrangements of Ola's original compositions, but also of new arrangements written by the bandleader especially for this evening and the soloists of the ZJO.
