How do I get my music reviewed on All About Jazz?
Scroll down to the "Looking for an album review?" section on the Musician Primer page (which is also accessible from the footer of every page). To find a good fit writer, click the "filter our staff" link. The All About Jazz staff are volunteers and choose what they review but if they accept your promotional material there is a strong chance they will review it. All About Jazz does not assign album reviews and reviews are in no way connected to advertising. Musicians, record labels and publicists are asked to contact staff writers directly either through the website or via email. -

What is DIG 9000?
DIG 9000, fashioned after HAL 9000, is AAJ's benevolent brain. Whereas his predecessor HAL turned evil and tried to kill Dave by not opening the pod bay doors, DIG uses his expanding intellect for niceness and efficiency. DIG's daily boot up message is, "Hello, Sun Ra."

I've checked the box associated with my member page to receive the weekly newsletter, but I never receive it. Why is that?

How do I update or delete an event?
You can delete an event from your MY EVENTS page here. -
How can I access my uploaded events?
We list all uploaded events (past and present) on your MY EVENTS page here. -
I uploaded an event but do not see it listed in the Jazz Near You calendar.
It's possible the city associated with the venue is not in our database or the venue listing has an incomplete address. Either way, please contact us. -
I submitted an event and it keeps including the wrong name for one of the musicians. Why is that?
Jazz Near You attempts to match on an entered name in the Participating Musicians section of the event submission form. If the musician you are attempting to enter is not listed in our database and is similarly spelled to a musician that is, then Jazz Near You will default to the similarly spelled musician's name.
The solution is to create a musician page for the missing musician. Simply create a shell page here. Once created, return to your event, click update, then replace the incorrect name with the correct name. -
How do I remove a musician from my favorites calendar?
To remove a musician from your favorites calendar, click the "Music Favorites" tab from your member update page and uncheck the box associated with the musician. Click "Hi, [Your Name]" > Update Your Page > Music Favorites.
