At the A-Trane jazz club you can relax to the sounds of the saxophone, discover the latest musical trends, enjoy the wee small hours or simply swing along. Despite its small size, with only a hundred seats, it’s a big venue on Berlin’s jazz scene. From Herbie Hancock and Ray Brown to Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis and Till Brönner – they all love playing the A-Trane. Every Saturday after midnight the musicians improvise at the now-legendary jam sessions.
The name A-Trane is a nod to “Trane”, the nickname of jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, and Duke Ellington’s signature tune “Take the A Train”.
