Born of drummer Arnaud Cabay's deep love for the repertoire of what is now known as the ‘Great American Songbook’, this project, in parallel with the guitar version of the trio, is based first and foremost on a desire but also on a simple observation. Jazz, unlike popular music, shuns its great classics in favour of a constant search for novelty. But if musicians like to compose and push back the boundaries of what has already been heard, to create a new sound and identity, these three could spend the rest of their lives reinterpreting the music they grew up with.
