Lou Grassi and Peter Alexius have been collaborating for many years. Since 2001, they have played together repeatedly in Germany and New York in various formations, including with Günther Heinz, Joe Fonda, Christoph Irmer, and Herb Robertson.

Peter writes:
Lou Grassi and I got together in 2001 when he was playing with Günther Heinz at LOFT and I joined the duo to form a trio for the second set.
We repeated this in Wuppertal at Galerie Epikur later that same week. This concert was recorded and remains an important part of my music to this day…
Since then, I have played with Lou on and off—it has always been a friendly relationship.
I am very much looking forward to the concert.
Echoes of Velocity is my passion project, and with Georg Wissel I have a saxophonist at my side whose playing makes me better and better and whose calm genius in improvisation is unparalleled. We have been working together regularly for four years.
With Reza Askari on bass, the foundation for my dream quartet is complete. The fragile power of his playing is absolutely essential.
