Honorary Award 2025 of the German Record Critics‘ Award to Patrik Landolt.
Laudatory speech by Bert Noglik.
Presentation by Julia Kaiser, Member of the Board of the German Record Critics‘ Award.
The concerts will start after a short break following the award ceremony.

James Brandon Lewis follows in the tradition of saxophonists such as Sonny Rollins, Albert Ayler and John Coltrane. James Brandon Lewis received high praise from 95-year-old Rollins: „When I listen to you, I hear Buddha, I hear Confucius … I hear the deeper meaning of life. You keep the world in balance.“
James Brandon Lewis, the son of a mathematician and a minister from Buffalo NY, has spent the last several years on an intense academic, spiritual and musical quest. He developed an urgent tenor saxophone sound as well as a lyrical quality that unfolds in both the solos and his compositions – most effectively with his jazz quartet.
James Brandon Lewis plays one of his rare solo concerts at the LOFT.

Kaja Draksler, Petter Eldh and Christian Lillinger are among the most innovative and profound musicians to have emerged in the last decade. The trio has received the highest praise from the music press: „Tonal/atonal patterns, figures and rhythms are interwoven here. This is highly dynamic and highly virtuosic“, wrote Hans-Jürgen Schaal in Jazzthetik, and he concludes: ”Currently one of the most important bands in the world„. And Michael Rüsenberg in Jazz City: “Experiencing what is probably the most expressive jazz piano trio in Europe at the moment (and possibly beyond) is a shaking experience.“
