“His works clearly demonstrate how free he is from clichés and how he has developed his own unique style,” writes Jazz’n’More about the Freiburg-based artist, who has played with many jazz stars and repeatedly relies on his American friends as a bandleader. One such friend is New York drummer Adam Nussbaum, who has already made jazz history as a tireless initiator and inspirer and has shared the stage with Sonny Rollins, John Scofield, Steve Swallow, Gil Evans, Stan Getz, Michael and Randy Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, and many more. At home in both straight-ahead jazz and modern styles, Adam Nussbaum always brings his own personal touch to his music.
The trio is completed by bassist Martin Gjakonovski, one of Europe’s most prominent jazz bassists. He impresses with his authentic, versatile playing, which has taken him into a wide variety of jazz scenarios, from avant-garde to mainstream to world music. He has played with Dusko Goykovich, Bob Berg, Antonio Farao, Lynne Arriale, Bob Franceschini, Roy Hargrove, Bojan Z, and many others.
